Electrician Rates & Call-Out Charges
Clear, published labour rates for electrical repairs, fault finding and planned work. We serve homeowners, landlords and businesses from our base in Streatham.
Straightforward pricing for planned electrical work.
Our standard rates apply to suitable pre-booked work, including electrical repairs, minor installations and fault finding. VAT-inclusive prices are shown prominently for household customers; VAT-exclusive equivalents are provided for businesses.
Qualified electrician
One-hour minimum booking. Additional time charged in 30-minute increments at £45 + VAT (£54 including VAT).
Electrician & apprentice
For jobs where a two-person team is appropriate. The proposed team and charging basis will be agreed before attendance.
Half-day booking
For planned works that suit a half-day labour booking. Duration, personnel and scope will be confirmed when booked.
Full-day booking
For planned installation and remedial works. Larger or multi-day projects are normally priced by written quotation.
Good to know: Half-day and full-day prices are pre-arranged labour rates, not automatic caps on hourly call-outs. Materials, parking and other applicable charges are additional unless a written quotation states otherwise. Weekend labour attracts a 25% surcharge.
Emergency electrician call-out rates.
For urgent electrical faults, we distinguish the attendance charge from time spent investigating or repairing the issue. Availability and any out-of-hours charges will be confirmed before booking.
£110 excluding VAT. Charged in addition to labour.
£90 excluding VAT. Minimum one hour.
£45 excluding VAT per additional half-hour of labour.
Emergency attendance + first hour of labour
The combined starting charge is shown before any materials, parking, applicable weekend/out-of-hours premium or additional time.
Emergency visits are subject to availability. A 25% weekend labour surcharge applies; we will confirm the applicable charge before dispatch.
Clear about what is included — and what is not.
Where work can be defined in advance, we prefer to provide a written quotation. For diagnostic visits or work of uncertain scope, time and materials may be more appropriate.
Parts and equipment
Accessories, cable, protective devices and other materials are charged separately unless specifically included in a quotation.
Parking and local charges
Parking, permits, Congestion Charge and ULEZ charges are additional where incurred and not already included in the agreed price.
Collection of materials
Necessary procurement time may be charged at the applicable labour rate, capped at one hour per visit.
Weekend attendance
Weekend labour attracts a 25% surcharge. Special attendance arrangements and any other premium are confirmed when booking.
Hidden faults or extra work
Concealed defects, difficult access or changes in scope may require a revised estimate or separate approval.
Inspection and certification
Testing and certification requirements depend on the work undertaken. Any separately priced inspection or report will be identified in your quotation.

The accepted quotation or invoice takes precedence where project-specific terms have been agreed.
Call-outs and small works
Payment is normally due on completion. We will explain the charging structure at booking and notify you if further work or materials are required.

Our standard staged payment arrangement for larger projects, unless agreed otherwise, is:
- 40% deposit
- 30% at the agreed stage

What is the minimum charge for an electrician?
Our standard labour booking has a one-hour minimum: £90 excluding VAT or £108 including VAT. Materials and any applicable additional charges are separate.
Is the emergency call-out fee included in the hourly rate?
No. The emergency attendance fee is £110 excluding VAT (£132 including VAT), plus £90 excluding VAT (£108 including VAT) for the first hour of labour. The combined starting charge is £240 including VAT before additional time or expenses.
Do you charge extra at weekends?
Weekend labour is subject to a 25% surcharge. We will confirm the rate applicable to your booking before attendance.
Are materials and parking included?
Not unless the quotation explicitly includes them. Necessary parts, parking, permits, ULEZ and Congestion Charge costs may be charged in addition to labour.
Can I get a fixed quotation instead of hourly rates?
Yes. Planned work such as rewiring, new circuits, consumer unit replacement, EV charging and larger commercial installations can be assessed and priced by written quotation. The final amount depends on the agreed scope and site conditions.
Do your prices include VAT?
This page shows both inclusive and exclusive prices. The VAT-inclusive amounts use the current standard rate of 20%. Your written quotation and invoice will confirm the VAT treatment.
