Finishes and design choices
Andersen chargers are designed to complement both modern and period homes. The A2 and A3 are available in a range of metal colours, with premium wood and selected special-edition fascias also available. Finish availability depends on the model and current Andersen range, so the final colour, fascia and casing combination is confirmed before ordering.
Hidden charging cable options
The Andersen A3 and A2 use the brand’s hidden tethered-cable system, allowing the charging lead to be stored inside the casing when it is not in use. The A3 is a compact 7kW single-phase option with a standard 5.5m cable. The larger A2 can suit 7kW or compatible 22kW three-phase installations and can be specified with a longer cable where needed.
The compact Andersen Quartz is available in socketed and tethered forms but does not use the A2/A3 hidden-cable compartment. We check the vehicle’s charge-port position and everyday parking arrangement before recommending a model and cable length.
Smart charging, tariffs and solar
Compatible Andersen chargers provide Wi-Fi connectivity, app control and scheduled charging. Suitable smart-tariff integration can be configured around the household’s current electricity plan. Solar charging is available on compatible 7kW configurations, subject to the property’s solar equipment and monitoring arrangement.
Installation considerations
The survey covers supply capacity and phase, cut-out rating, consumer unit, earthing, load management, parking position, wall construction, Wi-Fi coverage and the complete cable route. The charger must be fixed to a suitable permanent structure with enough space to use and store the tethered cable safely.
A surface-mounted route is usually the least disruptive. A more concealed supply cable may require internal trunking, an agreed external route, pre-installed ducting, chasing or making good. Groundworks, specialist access, long cable runs and upgrades to the existing electrical installation are identified and priced before work begins.
Every installation includes the dedicated circuit and protective devices, DNO notification or approval where applicable, BS 7671 testing and certification, commissioning and app setup.
